About this file

This document is a technical specification section for Traffic Regulations (Section 01570) that provides comprehensive requirements for managing traffic safety and control during construction projects. The specification details requirements for traffic control, including the mandatory submission of a Traffic Control Plan that must specify signage locations, types of signs, and compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) standards. Material requirements include reflectorized signs meeting MUTCD standards and orange safety cones at least 18 inches high that are highly visible in day and night conditions.

The document outlines key execution requirements for public safety, mandating that contractors provide, erect, and maintain all necessary traffic control devices as approved in the Traffic Control Plan and by local authorities. Contractors must maintain traffic flow with minimal obstruction, keep all traffic control devices clean and readable, and remove temporary devices when no longer needed. Notably, there will be no direct payment for these traffic regulation activities, with associated costs expected to be incorporated into the overall contract bid price. The specification applies specifically to work in Fremont County, Colorado, and emphasizes the importance of safe and expeditious movement of traffic through construction zones.
