About this file

This document is a Site Demolition technical specification (Section 02223) detailing requirements for removing an existing cattleguard and associated infrastructure. The scope of work includes excavating and disposing of the existing cattleguard, including its wings and base, with the option to salvage bases that are in good condition. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will transport any salvaged bases away from the site.

Contractor responsibilities include performing a one-call utility notification before digging, placing salvageable materials at a designated onsite location, and supplying equipment and labor to load salvaged items onto a government trailer. Any items not designated for salvage will become the contractor's property and must be legally disposed of. Payment for the demolition work will be made on a lump sum basis, specifically under the pay item "02223(1) Day Use Demolition" with a lump sum payment unit.
