About this file

This is an attachment document outlining fare types and payment media for the Transport of Rockland (TOR) public transit bus system operated by the County of Rockland, New York. The TOR bus service operates a fixed-route intra-county system with a fleet of 45 vehicles owned by the County. The fare structure includes multiple payment options to accommodate different passenger types and preferences. Cash fares are set at $2.00 for full fare and $1.00 for half fare (for passengers with qualifying Reduced Fare photo ID or Medicare Card). Electronic payment is accepted through "Change Cards," which the farebox reads and debits the appropriate amount before returning the card to the passenger. Paper ticket options include SuperSaver tickets and DSS TOR tickets, with the latter including a transfer upon request; both are valid for one ride. College Semester "Flash Passes" are also available, with dates and colors changed each semester for verification purposes. Transfers are offered at $1.00 with a full cash fare or $0.50 with a senior or disabled fare and are valid for two hours only on the date of issue at route intersections.

The transfer fare media are accepted on TOR, Clarkstown Mini-Trans, and Westchester Bee-Line buses and are not valid for return trips. Paper transfers issued by Clarkstown Mini Trans and Hudson LINK buses are collected by TOR drivers. All fare payment mechanisms are designed to streamline collection and support the daily operations of the transit system while providing flexibility for various passenger demographics. Transit information is available through Hudson Link at 844-822-8920 or at www.RideHudsonLink.com. The document includes a calendar reference for expiration date tracking and serial number documentation for transfers.
