About this file

This document summarizes an amendment to a solicitation notice for genetic toxicology support services. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a contract for up to ten years to examine approximately 20 chemicals or mixtures annually in genotoxicity assays. Services will include comet assays to assess DNA damage and micronucleus assays to measure chromosomal damage in rats, mice, and human cells. The contractor will also refine existing techniques and integrate new technologies to maintain scientific capability for the National Toxicology Program in evaluating exposure-induced genetic toxicities. While approximate costs should be provided for specified assay types, there is no expectation for activities related to research and development, technique refinement, or technology integration described in the statement of work.
