Sheet M-8, RTU-1, the unit is scheduled for 100% OA but the cooling entering data does not match 100% OA conditions at the site. It is calling for a 5-ton Carrier package heating and DX cooling but it appears the unit will not be able to handle cooling demands with 100% OA and deliver cold enough temperature to the space. Additionally, the 0.75 in of fan static appears to be low for the connected external ductwork and a MERV14 filter after partial loading. Please verify if 1 hp supply fan motor is sufficient to handle the total external static with partially loaded MERV 14 filter at 0.75 in.
AE The Specified unit for RTU-1 is a 6-Ton dedicated outside air unit specifically manufactured as a 100% outside air unit.
The specified external static pressure (ESP) of 0.75” W.C.
does not include internal losses such as filter pressure drop.
The Carrier equipment selection includes the internal pressure drop of a loaded MERV 14 filter with a total static pressure (TSP) of 1.9” W.C. at the Specified CFM and per the manufacture’s design submittal, the 1 Hp motor is sufficient. Contractor to provide formal equipment submittals for approval prior to ordering equipment per the Specifications
32.
RFP
Sheet M-5, it appears that the units labeled RTU-1 is intended to be a 100% OA make-up air unit but the model number listed for Carrier is a 5-ton unit and is much smaller than the roof plan shows. Is it possible the model number is incorrect?
AE The Specified Carrier Unit Model 62XK06 for RTU-1 is a 6- Ton dedicated outside air unit specifically manufactured as a 100% outside air unit. Reference Sheet M-8 of B01 Attachment J03 Drawings Addendum No. 2.
33. RFP Sheet M-9, control diagram in upper right is for a Make-up air unit. Is this to be for RTU-1?
AE Correct. The Make-Up Air Unit control diagram on Sheet M- 9 is for RTU-1.
34.
RFP Sheet M-5, KN 9 refers to Dog House for piping penetration however we are unable to find a detail or specification for the ‘Dog House’.

This ratio listed in the specs is equal to about a 6,000 psi mix and we usually only see this low of a W/C ratio in large industrial water treatment plants that are subject to acids and other chemicals. Please confirm the water cement ratio called out in the specs?
AE Use 4000 psi concrete mix with W/C ratio not to exceed

Attachment J01 Specifications, Specification 015000, Paragraph 1.3, discusses “Use Charges” regarding temporary utilities for the project.
Paragraph 1.3(A) states that “Owner’s Construction Forces” can use temporary utilities without cost, however Paragraphs 1.3(B) and 1.3(C) indicate that both electric and water are available for use “with metering”, which would indicate that use charges will apply. Paragraph
3.3 of this specification simply states to connect to Owner’s existing service for both water and electricity, with no mention of metering. As this is an addition/renovation project and permanent utilities are existing, please confirm that the contractor will be able to connect to the existing utilities, to utilize for temporary/construction use, with no use charges.
AE The contractor is responsible for temporary utility costs until the building is turned over to Owner.
