Questions and Answers to Request for Clarification for Solicitation 70Z08521QP4533000 Amendment P0004 USCGC Frank Drew
QUESTION: In the questions and answers provided with Amendment 002 the government indicated that “Coast Guard Drawing 175 WLM 801-025, Rev -, Tank Curves (557) shows tank capacities for tanks onboard FRANK DREW”.
Please provide this drawing as it was not in the download of references.
ANSWER: The specification document has been updated to include the drawing as reference Drawing must be requested via email to kimberly.y.burtwell@uscg.mil, and Katie.M.Cornelia@uscg.mil. Drawing will be provided via DoDSafe.
*As a result of the questions received and the answers provide, the specification documents was revised. In the attachments the revised specification document, Rev 2 Spec FRANK DREW (WLM 175) DD FQ3 MAS 21R2, the following necessary changes were identified during the solicitation and have been implemented in the specification document:
1. WI 18: Sea Strainers (All Sizes), Renew: DESCOPED. This WI was de-scoped because it was determined to not be necessary. A GFE discrepancy was identified with this Standard WI, which has been addressed with SES1. All GFE associated with this WI has been removed from the Spec Package.
2. WI 57: Thruster Pinion Seal, Renew: DESCOPED. This WI was de-scoped because the work it identifies is already covered in WI-22: Thruster Unit (General), Overhaul. WI-22 includes the same procedure and GFE to replace the Thruster Seal kit, therefore WI-57 would be a repetition of work completed in WI-22. For this reason, WI-57 has been de-scoped and all GFE associated with it has been removed from the project.
3. WI 51: Provide Access to Various Compartments for Ship’s Structure and Machinery Evaluation Board (SSMEB) Inspection: Reference added. Following solicitation, a shipyard requested to know tank capacities for tanks onboard to accurately quote this WI. It was determined that “Coast Guard Drawing 175 WLM 801-025, Rev -, Tank Curves (557)” provides the necessary information for FRANK DREW, so that drawing was added to the list of references.
