About this file
This is a Metals Analysis Report prepared by Environmental Hazards Services, L.L.C. for Volusia County, Florida, related to the Main Street Bridge (Bridge No. 794004) Repairs project in Daytona Beach. The report documents laboratory analysis of paint samples collected from the bridge's counter weight on April 13, 2023, with results reported on April 17, 2023. The analysis identifies RCRA8 metals concentrations, including Arsenic (As) at 47 ppm and Barium (Ba), measured in mg/kg from sample 23-04-01994-001. The testing was conducted at the laboratory located at 1112 E Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, Florida, with results provided under client number 202312.
This environmental testing report supports the Volusia County Department of Public Works' bridge repair and painting project, which includes cleaning and painting structural steel, installing web repair plates, replacing bolts and rivets, removing abandoned equipment, and rehabilitating machinery bearings. The metals analysis is critical for determining hazardous material content in existing paint and establishing proper handling, removal, and disposal protocols for the contractor during the cleaning and painting phase of the project.

Method:
Sample Results denoted with a “less than” (<) sign contains less than the reporting limit for each particular metal, based on a 50mL volume.
The reporting limit is 0.10 ug for Mercury, 0.5ug for Cadmium and Beryllium, 1ug for Arsenic and Thallium and 2.5ug for all other metals. To convert metals concentration (ppm) to % by weight, divide the above concentration by 10,000.
LEGEND ug = microgram ppm = parts per million mL = milliliter mg/kg = milligrams per kilogram
Reviewed By Authorized Signatory:
L01: Results of duplicate analysis for As, Cd, Pb for the QC batch were outside acceptance limits.
Sample Narratives:
Mercury (Hg): EPA SW846 7471B
All other metals: EPA SW846 3050B/6010D
The condition of the samples analyzed was acceptable upon receipt per laboratory protocol unless otherwise noted on this report. Results represent the analysis of samples submitted by the client. Unless otherwise noted, samples are reported without a dry weight correction.
Sample location, description, area, volume, etc., was provided by the client. If the report does not contain the result for a field blank, it is due to the fact that the client did not include a field blank with their samples. These sample results do not reflect blank correction. This report shall not be reproduced except in full, without the written consent of Environmental Hazards Services, L.L.C.
