Questions Answers 1 After adding up all the fence they have I am coming up with
11,045' Almost twice as much as the bid quantity. Do we know why?
Addendum 001 updates notes and quantities to correct and clarify.
2 They want 76'' T-posts according to the detail. 72'' posts would give them 30'' in the ground. 2' in ground is the CDOT Standard.
Is 30'' adequate?
Addendum 001 updates to allow 72” post length with 30” embedment.
3 They show gates on the detail but I don't see gates on the plans or Bid Tab. Am I missing them?
No gates are being replaced as part of the project.
4 They don't have quantities for End and Corner Braces. This leaves a lot to interpretation as far as the overall price of the estimate.
Would they be willing to give a estimate on brace quantities?
Design and locations of brace and corner posts are not quantified or identified in the plans.

Questions Answers 11 Do the upstream ends of the box culverts have concrete approach slabs?
See special 601-A Box Culvert Headwall and Wingwalls, for box culvert outlet headwall details. There are not approach slabs for the concrete box culverts.
12 Can Bids be sent via fed-ex or is it hand delivered only?
13 SCR 156.07 (o): Does this requirement pertain to maintenance of existing fencing or is the contractor expected to provide temporary fencing around the construction limits?
The requirement pertains to maintaining the existing fence.
14 Standard Spec Section 203: The roadway profile and provided cross sections would indicate that removal of the existing asphalt pavement section will be required. Please indicate how payment will be provided for removed pavement surfacing materials?
See FP-14 subsection 204.02.
15 SCR 107.10(e )(1): The presence of prairie dogs and burrowing owls has a significant impact on how the contractor could progress construction operations. The bidding documents do not disclose the locations or occurrence of sensitive wildlife. Without the government providing this information, can the contractors schedule under the assumption none are currently present, until determined at time of construction surveys? Will the government provide the necessary biological monitor as not pay item is provided?
The government performed a survey in fall of 2024 and no burrowing owls were found. Prairie dogs were encountered but will not require relocation.
Addendum 002 in section 107.10 provides additional clarification. The Government will not provide a biological monitor.
Either method is acceptable.
16 SCR 204.14: Please clearly indicate if the contractor would be allowed to dispose of excess excavation within the project limits or should the contractor assume offsite disposal. Because the tabulation on plan sheet number 84 classifies this material as waste the assumption is to export off the project limits?
