About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) Responses document for the ZDV CTRB Raised Floor project (Notice ID 6973GH-26-R-00024), dated January 20, 2026. The document addresses 15 clarifications submitted by bidders regarding project requirements and specifications. Key clarifications include: asbestos removal must be included in bids for demolished doors; a supervisor on-site must be badged with FAA-issued PIV Card while other workers may be badged as needed; the west-side elevator is accessible but use must be coordinated with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR); the specified Tate Concore 1250/FS200D product is preferred but approved equals may be considered; and Tech Electronics of Colorado is the preferred fire alarm contractor, with Honeywell and Piper Electric working on a separate concurrent fire alarm project.

Technical and construction clarifications specify that surface-mounted conduit is acceptable for outlet installation; an EES refers to an Earth Electrode System; bonding conductors for the raised floor system should follow the legend specification of 6 AWG green with orange tracer; only metallic elements below the raised floor require bonding; and the concentrated load rating for the raised access floor is 1,250 lbs., with the Tate ConCore 1250 meeting this requirement. Additional clarifications confirm that new door hardware should be provided rather than reused; existing wall damage from door closers must be repaired; underfloor dividers are not required; and the green highlighted areas on plans indicate ramp installation locations with bottom landing areas, while the blue area is the only approved location for raised access floor stairs.

ZDV CTRB Raised Floor NoƟce ID 6973GH-26-R-00024

BID RFI RESPONSES

01.20.2026

RFI 0.1 Item 4.2 in the SOW talks about asbestos. Will the owner be contracƟng for asbestos removal or will that need to be included in the bid?

Response:

Asbestos removal should be included in the bid. It is unknown if the doors that will be demolished contain asbestos or not, but these should be disposed of assuming that they do.

RFI 0.2 Will you be providing the of aƩendees from the pre-bid job walk?

This informaƟon will not be provided.

RFI 0.3 Will we be required to have a supervisor that will need to apply for and get an FAA issued PIV Card? Will subcontractors need this as well or can they be supervised by?

Yes, there will need to be a supervisor on site who will be badged. Other workers can also be badged if needed or required.

RFI 0.4 Will we be able to access the elevator that is near the West side of the project?

Yes, you will be able to access this elevator, but its use and when it will be used will have to be coordinated with the COR.

RFI 0.5 SpecificaƟon 096900-1.2A-1 reference a specific product to be used (Tate Concore 1250/FS200D). Is the only product acceptable or could an approved equal be used?

It is our preference to for the specified product to be used.

RFI 0.6 Is there a Fire Alarm contractor they prefer for this building? I did not see a company’s name on the control panels in that room.

Tech Electronics of Colorado is preferred to do this work. Honeywell and Piper Electric will be working on a separate fire alarm project concurrently.

RFI 0.7 Sheet A2.0, Keynote 5: Is surface mounted conduit acceptable to raise these outlets?

Yes, surface mounted conduit is acceptable.

RFI 0.8 Sheet A3.1 SRG Note 4 menƟons an EES. What does that stand for?

An EES is an Earth Electrode System.

RFI 0.9 Sheet A3.1 SRG Note 6 says to bond the raised floor system using 4 AWG bare, but in the legend on the same page, it shows the bonding as 6 AWG green with orange tracer as the bonding conductor. Which one is correct?

Please use the specificaƟon on the legend when bonding to each pedestal.

RFI 0.10 Sheet A3.1 SRG Note 8: Do all conduits, wireways, etc. above the raised floor/ceiling height need to be bonded, or just everything below the raised floor?

Only metallic elements below the raised floor need to be bonded.

RFI 0.11 In the plans it states to replace the doors and frame for the double door entry and to reuse the exisƟng hardware. We highly do not recommend reusing the exisƟng hardware. Not only does this make it much more difficult to replace just the door and frame but I'm aƩaching pictures of the exisƟng hardware. Most of it looks like it has a large amount of wear and tear already.

The condiƟon of the exisƟng hardware is acknowledged, please provide new door hardware.

RFI 0.12 There's some exisƟng wall damage where the closer is hiƫng the wall when the door is opened, do we need to repair this as well?

Yes, please repair this area of the wall.

RFI 0.13 Spec 09 69 00 3.3.I - Calls for underfloor dividers, where is this located on the plans?

Please disregard this, underfloor dividers will not be required for this project.

RFI 0.14 What concentrated load raƟng is the architect requiring for the raised access floor in this space?

The required concentrated load raƟng is 1,250 lbs. (567 kg.) The specified Tate ConCore 1250 meets this requirement.

RFI 0.15 Can you please confirm that the green area indicates where the ramp is to be installed, and that the blue area is the only approved locaƟon for the RAF stairs?

Yes, both green areas are where the ramp is to be installed. Note that a porƟon of the green highlighted area includes the boƩom landing area for each ramp. The blue area is the only approved area for the stairs.
