(Questions and Answers)

2. Q: What is the intended process and time frame for review of the Contractors Design

Submission by SLSDC?

A: As part of the first factor in the first phase solicitation requires the submittal of a conceptual design that shall, “include general materials and construction methods. The offeror shall explain the benefits of the conceptual design. The conceptual design shall not be a detailed design.” More details on the submittal process for a final design will be furnished with the second phase of the solicitation.

3. Q: After approval of the project design what is the intended process for review and approval of materials and shop drawings? Will this be completed by the contractors designer or will it require dual review and approval by the SLSDC?

A: See the response to #2 above. More details on the submittal process for a final design and construction will be furnished with the second phase of the solicitation.

4. Q: Will construction inspection services fall under the DB contractor or will SLSDC be providing these services?

A: The Contractor will be responsible for completing the work in accordance with the applicable design and quality control requirements. The SLSDC may choose to have internal or third party constructions inspection services for the completion of the work. However, the presence, or lack of presence, of an inspection does not alleviate the Contractor from this responsibility.
