About this file
This document contains responses to requests for information regarding federal solicitation number 520-23-106 to renovate interior space at a Veterans Affairs medical center. Key details include:
As-built drawings of existing telecommunications and electrical systems were provided. Infection control risk assessments will be required on a case-by-case basis for work above ceilings outside the defined work area. Nurse call devices and cabling affected by demolition will need to be deactivated by the contractor or a subcontractor. The specification sections and table of contents were revised to clarify the scope of work. Each phase must be fully completed before the next phase can begin. Wall guards and handrails will be required continuously at corridor and atrium walls. Some fire sprinklers may need temporary relocation during construction. The contractor will be responsible for testing modified mechanical and plumbing systems. The superintendent can also serve as the site safety officer and quality control manager. All work must occur outside normal operating hours and on weekends to avoid disrupting hospital operations.
