About this file
This specification covers painting requirements for a federal project. It requires field painting of various surfaces including wood, ferrous metals, galvanized metal, masonry, concrete, and gypsum board. Specific paints are identified by their Master Painters Institute numbers to be applied in a multi-coat system with prime, body, and finish coats. Requirements include surface preparation, application methods, colors, protection during work, and cleanup. Health, safety and environmental regulations for paint materials are also outlined.
