2. Project Overview Shelter the Homeless is a nonprofit organization that serves the community by serving individuals experiencing homelessness and working with partners to develop safe facilities and expand solutions to prevent and end homelessness in Utah.

This project includes building improvements to create cleanable, non-porous surfaces to the showers that support effective sanitation, improved indoor air quality, and return the facility to the level of quality required for safe and reliable building operations at the Geraldine E. King Women’s Resource Center. The goal of the project is to ensure the space is accessible, safe, and usable for all community members, including people with disabilities and mobility limitations.

3. Scope of Work The intent of this project is to resurface the existing shower walls with Sherwin-Williams Deco Quartz resin (Blue Slate) and apply three coats of clear epoxy to create a durable, sanitary finish capable of withstanding long-term, high-volume use.

While the shower area is under construction, shelter residents will continue to use the restroom stalls and sinks located in the south portion of the restroom. The north portion, which contains the showers, shall remain a secured work zone accessible only to authorized personnel.

Work shall be performed Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Parking is available on the west side of the facility.
