About this file
This Scope of Work document outlines garbage, recycling, green waste, and trash collection and hauling services for the Community Reinvestment Agency (CRA) and Salt Lake City Corporation at three designated locations: Regent Street (160 South Regent Street), the Gallivan Center/Utah One Center (17 East 200 South), and Howa Storage/Gardens (648 West 100 South). Regent Street requires weekly collection of trash and recycling using two Agency-owned receptacles, while the Gallivan Center requires weekly trash-only collection with one contractor-owned receptacle. Howa Storage/Gardens requires on-call service for both trash and recycling using two receptacles. The awarded bidder must establish collection schedules in coordination with Agency designees, account for holidays and local events, designate a 24-hour coordinator, and maintain adequate staffing for routine collections and special events. The contractor is responsible for container maintenance, repairs, and steam cleaning as requested, with all work performed at the contractor's expense.
The contractor must submit monthly program reports with invoices within ten working days of each month's end, detailing locations serviced, container types, pickup dates, and tonnage by material type. An annual report is due by the last working day of February and must include vehicle miles traveled, fuel consumption by type, weight of materials collected by category, and descriptions of any accidents or infractions. All recyclable materials must be delivered to a City-approved material recovery facility (MRF), refuse must go to Salt Lake Valley Transfer Station, Salt Lake Valley Landfill, or Ace Intermountain Recycling Center, and green waste must be delivered to Salt Lake Valley Landfill or an approved organic processing facility. The contract supports Salt Lake City's zero waste goal for 2040 and prioritizes waste diversion. The contractor must meet quarterly with the Agency designee to discuss operational efficiency. Failure to advance the City's waste diversion goals is grounds for contract termination.
