A601 and Door Specifications
Door Panel Type FP - Is this door to be a stile and rail construction? If so, raised or flat panel design?
Please verify that the project is to be registered with AWI so that AWI QCP labels can be supplied with the wood doors.
Spec 081416-2 Source limitations: obtain all flush wood doors from single manufacturer.
Please verify stile and rail doors can be acquired from different manufacturer than the flush doors?
Auto open comments on door schedule compared with the specified hardware do not align: see tags 1019, 1019A, 1028, 1100, 1413. Please advise if these openings are to receive door operators a.) Door Type FP are Stile and Rail, Flat Panel to match aesthetic Shaker Style cabinets. See specification 081416.

Detail 5 on sheet SR501 requires the balcony surface to receive an underlayment up to the height of the thickness of the existing topping slab. For bidding purposes please provide an assumed thickness since the quantity cannot be determined based on the provided details.
The geotechnical report references potential undercutting for foundations and slab on grades. Please clarify locations and depths if any undercutting will be required.
The AD demolition elevations require the existing limestone and granite façade panels to be removed and salvaged. This will be a significant amount of material beyond what is needed for this project and a significant cost. Please confirm we only need to salvage the stone panels that we need and the rest can be disposed of.
a.) See the note included in detail 5/SR501. The requested information is provided there.
b.) The actual undercutting will depend on the soil conditions encountered as the foundations/slab are excavated. The conditions should be observed by the testing agency to determine if the design bearing capacity is achieved at the footing subgrades and a proofroll observed by the testing agency within the slab area (there are references to the foundation subgrade and slab subgrade being observed by the testing agency in our report).
c.) Contractor shall salvage all removed facade stone, reusing as appropriate for facade repairs. All other stone shall be stored on campus per comment #35.
99 Roof Loads
Please clarify if the roof can safely withstand the loads imposed by a swing stage rigging system and/or Jib Crane for stone paneling removal?
Please provide the roof loads of the existing roof on the main building.
Live load for roof deck is 20 PSF. Contractor may utilize swing stage and/or jib crane rigging subject to load limitations. Submit structural analysis calculations for approval, signed and sealed by the qualified Professional Engineer responsible for their preparation. See also Comment #100.
100 Roof Access
Please provide the access route to the roof for personnel installing the flagpoles and the personnel modifying the stone panels they are being mounted to.
Are there any safety or security measures that need to be accounted for while performing this work.
Can the stone panels be staged and worked on from the existing roof?
a.) Refer to Comment #69 for roof access route.
b.) Contractor should refer to Spec Sections 015930 & 015950, the AFRH Facilities Maintenance Standards, in addition to industry-standard safety protocols (i.e. OSHA, NIOSH, etc).
c.) No materials shall be staged from or stored on the existing roof. All work above the roof line shall be accomplished only after roof membrane protection is installed by the contractor (subject to owner pre-approval) to prevent damage and warranty impact.
