About this file
This document is a procedural guide from the City of Lancaster Police Department in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, outlining the process for requesting permitted and enforceable no parking signs for construction, traffic control, or tree permits. After receiving a permit from the City, applicants must email the permit to constructionparking@cityoflancasterpa.gov with specific project information including work completion times, dates of work (including potential Saturday work), location, type of work, number of spaces to be blocked, and desired sign pickup date. The City emphasizes that signs must be posted 48 hours in advance to be enforceable and recommends applicants account for city holidays that may delay sign availability due to staff time off. Once signs are completed, applicants will receive email notification of availability for pickup.
Questions regarding the no parking sign request process should be directed to Mindi Gable at the Lancaster Police Department at (717) 735-3340 or gablem@lancasterpolice.com. This procedural document applies specifically to the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and serves as an administrative guide rather than a competitive solicitation or contract opportunity. The process requires advance planning to ensure adequate notice for sign posting and enforcement.
