Technical Questions
1. We are to safe-off only for demolition. Correct?
No, check other specifications and demolition drawings & notes, OHSA, etc.
Example check;

2. What is the schedule? The proposal due date has been modified via amendment, the period of performance is found in the SOW. It is the responsibility of the offeror to provide a project schedule, which will be evaluated.
3. Will there be a pre-bid meeting? No.
4. Drawing EP121.1B, general note 14, what are the requirements for the sleep room monitoring cameras? The contractor shall provide power to monitoring devices.
Control Room
• One TV monitor
• One CCTV NVR Sleep Lab Rooms
• One CCTV camera (ea) sleep lab room to be connected to the CCTV NVR in the control room
Sleep Lab rooms shall have it’s own CCTV system.
5. Drawing EP121.1B, general note 15, what are the TV requirements? What architectural drawings? See Drawing AE 102B, Sheet 16 for mounting requirement.
6. Drawing EP121.1B, sheet note 4, what are the wi-fi wiring requirements?
Wifi:
• Secured wifi (VA wifi)– from IT closet to the network port location (S)
• Unsecured wifi (Guest wifi) – US – from H128 to the network port location (US)
7. Drawing ES120B, sheet note 16, Please provide VA proposed lay-out for revised power requirements. See comm drawings ES120D – ES120J.
8. Drawing ES120D, grounding riser detail, where is it required? For ground busbar installation see Drawing ES120D,. G108 is a new comm closet.
9. What electrical work is required for new dialysis boxes? There is no electrical work associated with the new dialysis boxes.
10. What burglar alarm system is required? We saw no burglar alarm outlets. Pharmacy needs a burglar alarm – Install security keypads, motion sensor , also need alarm for the fridge. These equipments shall be tie-in alarm panel is in H100 police room. See revised drawing

11. Renovation C doors: Door 8 says ABS for material – I am not familiar with this. Is this like an Eliason type door? Also, I do not see a spec.
Construction should be SC WD and frame should be HM.
12. Door 9 says PLWD – is this a door to be done by the cabinet/wood guys?

13. Addition B doors: Door 5.01 is on the plans but not on the door schedule – appears to be a storefront?
Door 15.1 is the same as #14 and #15.
14. Door 13 (office supply) was not found – is this door used? There is a door marked 13 but I believe it should be 13.1 (electrical) Door #13 is not used.
15. The hardware schedule is just ANSI numbers – there are no part number designations.
Do you have a schedule with actual part numbers and manufacturers? The only other thing I saw in the documents was locks were to be Best and we had to match current hardware.

16. What is current hardware on this project?
Door Hardware specs is missing.

17. Spec section 081113 part 2.5.b.2 says exterior door frames are to be stainless steel – called out as hollow metal on door schedule and the doors are called out as metal as well. Are these frames supposed to be stainless steel?
Exterior door frames shall be hollow metal.
18. Spec section 081400 for wood doors. Some of the wood doors say NF finish and some say PT. Assumed PT is paint but is NF just supposed to be clear finish? Also spec says match existing veneer – rotary cut, AA Grade – need to know species of existing doors.
“NF” indicates a Natural Finish. Refer to the VA for the preferred door veneer species.
19. Does the fiber and copper run from B21 through B 20 and terminate in New Addition? It also shows generic telecom room buildout and no telecom locations on any drawings.
Yes, the new fiber and new copper runs from B21 through B20 and terminate in the New Addition. See all telecom drawings.
20. Per the one-line diagram on sheet EP501, panel NHG is being fed directly from the MSB located in room H128. Per sheet ES120B, panel NHG is shown being fed from panel NHF in room F201. Please verify which source panel NHG is being fed from.
Sheet EP501 is correct. Panel NHG is fed from MSB located in Room H128. On Sheet ES128B, terminate one conduit in Room F201 and extend the 2nd conduit to Room H128.
21. There are no call outs or dimensions on steel columns. Please provide this information.
We are assuming this is for Addition B. The brace frame columns are noted on the frame elevations. The typical columns are noted on plan as W10x45 typ uno. See snapshot below.
22. "Pertaining to the signage scope on this project, please advise the sign sizes for each type of sign as it is not identified in the plans or specs." See Attachment VA Signage 08, 09 & 11.

No, drawings and specifications calls for a complete fully operational and certified telecommunications system.

26. What is the campus standard for lighting controls?
There is no campus standard for lighting control.
27. We are to rough-in only for PA system. Correct?
No, furnish and install fully functional electronic safety and security system per AC drawings and specifications.
28. We are to rough-in only for Nurse Call. Correct??
No, furnish and install fully functional Nurse call system. See Nurse call System specification.
29. Who is the campus nurse call vendor?

30. What are the symbols “S”, “US”, “E” and “N” shown on drawing EP121C?

31. Who provide VAV low voltage wiring?
You, contractor is to provide all wiring and connection as required.
32. See “MSB” and panel “LBDP” located?
“MSB” is located in room H128, Bldg 20, ES120C, detail 3.
“LBDP” is located in room D101, Bldg 19 OPC, detail 3.
33. Sheet note 1 on page EP121.1B states to provide local stand-alone call for assistance system and detail 2 on page ES120B shows Existing West-Com distribution panel in Electrical Room F201. Is it acceptable to add distribution components to existing panel or does a new head end need to be provided for the project area to meet the stand alone call out?
Provide Stand-alone system, see specification 27 52 23 Wireless Emergency Nurse call system
34. Sheet EP122A Electrical Plumbing and Door Power Plan-Addition A shows 2 toilets with nurse call pull cords and dome lights. Sheet note 7 states to provide local stand-alone call for assistance system.
a. Please verify that 120 VAC will be provided in area for nurse call power supply.
b. Please verify that dome lights with sounders are only required annunciation points for the 2 toilets.
a. The “Call for Assistance” unit is connected to Panel LBD 1 Circuit 20 as shown on Drawing EP122A. This should provide the 120 VAC as required.
b. Provide annunciation panel at the main reception area and will require a 4” square back box with a one gang ring. Provide add sounder to each dome light.
35. Detail 8 on AE503 revised drawings calls out 3/8” fiber cement soffit. Is this a siding product? It does not seem to be referenced in the specs anywhere. Can you please provide some additional information on it? In lieu of this detail, can we just stucco the overhang like the walls?
Provide “James Hardie” Hardiesoffit Panel with smooth finish, or VA approved equal.
36. On Building B, keynotes 5 and 8 on the exterior elevation sheet AE400B reference masonry wainscoting and cement plaster siding. Can you please advise which spec sections these exterior finishes are referring to? I am assuming the cement plaster siding is Spec Section 09 24 00 Portland Cement Plastering, but the wainscoting appears to be a brick finish.J Cement Plaster is Specified in Spec. Section 09 24 00 Portland Cement Plaster. The brick wainscot shall match the existing facility type, size, color and style.
37. What is the model of overhead speakers?
VNS2214-1 Wireless Ceiling Speaker
38. What room of the tie in to the amplifier?
H201 Conference Room
39. What is room the IDF for Addition C – voice, data cables, copper and fiber?
For Renovation C the IDF room is Room H141.
