Pre-Bid RFI Response Log
Item
# RFI VA Response
There are not any drawings and details for the duct bank areas that are to be added. Can we get drawings and details of the duct banks with conduit sizes and layouts? The only information we have is its either 2 x 3, 2 x 2, or
2 x 1 duct bank. How deep will it need to be? What size conduits? Will they be Schedule 40 conduits?
Follow ductbank details previously on 3/E-502. Detials have been moved to T-503 in revised plan set for clarity. Schedule 40 conduit is acceptable. Ductbank must have 24" of cover.
Can we get details and detail drawings on the new manholes? Drawings call for 4’ x 8’ but doesn’t state how deep it needs to be? However, the specs call for 6’ x 9’ x 7’ manholes. Which is correct? Manhole details have been added for duct bank to sheet DT101.
On the fiber riser drawings T-601 it shows some 24 strand MM OM4 fiber appearing in what I believe to be in building 107 out to other Tr’s in Building
107 but not sure which TR they are originating from in 107. Can we get more clarification as to where these MM fibers will originate from?
Disregard multimode fiber reference. Has been removed in revised drawing.
Specs call for the MM fiber to be preterminated armored fiber with MPO connections on each end. Can we get floor layouts for Building 107 with TR locations so we can figure out the footage we will need for each run and to be able to identify the room locations and pathways during installation?
Pre-terminated fiber is only required in the data center to connect network cabinets to HDA's fiber from data center to TR's does not need to be provided. Drawings of floorplans will be provided for footages.
Can we get floor layouts of all the buildings with TR locations that fiber will be running to, to figure out the footage in the buildings and be able to identify the room locations and pathways during installation?
T-401-404 sheets have been added to the sheets to depict this information for each building
Specifications call for loose tube gel filled SM OS2 fiber, but they also call for armored indoor/outdoor rated fiber? Which is the preferred fiber for this application between building? Is loose tube or tight buffered preferred? Indoor/Outdoor armored loose tube gel filled is required.
Will innerduct be required in the newly added duct banks? If so what kind and size and how many will need to be installed either per conduit or total for that section of the duct bank? No, not required.
Will inner duct need to be installed in any portions of the existing duct bank? If so, what kind and size and where in the existing duct bank will it need to be installed? How many will need to be installed either per conduit or in total for those areas? No, not required.
REQUIRED
Some of the markings on drawing CU101are off. For instance, new manhole T-4 near building 70 shows it in the middle of nowhere. Should it be in line with the duct bank? Or does the duct bank need to be in that location and then into building 70? Or is it supposed to be where I have the red arrow going to on the attached drawing? T-4 Label moved to correspond with correct manhole location.
In the attached drawing is the assumption as its laid out the correct assumption? All of the duct banks are new. 2 x 3 in the right areas, 2 x 2 in the right areas, and 2 x1 in the right areas? New and existing manholes in the correct locations? Duct bank sizing has been confirmed on updated plans.
Will the New manhole on the backside of Building 166 heading to building
12 be labeled manhole ‘T – 8’? There is not a ‘T – 8’ on Fiber Riser drawing T-601?
Route from data center to building 115 is just for power. Data will run through proposed manhole E-1 to building 12. Need to clarify this on our plans. Proposed fiber optic manhole changed to electric manhole and lines changed from fiber optic to electric.
On drawing T-601 it shows (1) fiber pull per comm room, On Drawing T-
504 it shows (2) of each SM pulled from building 166 to each telecom room. (1) for A and (1) for B which is correct?
One run of fiber will be run from building 166 all the way to the TR's .
The other run of fiber will be extended from building 12 to the new data center. this has been clarified on T-601 and TS102
Will the same be for the MM fiber (1) per room or (2) per room? (1) for A and (1) for B?
New fiber runs from the DC to the closets will noly be 24 strand single mode. Existing 28 fibers that will need to be spliced and extended from building 12 are 24 SM/ 24 MM hybrid fiber cables. there are 28 cables needing to be spliced and extended.
Where are the racks located on Drawing T-505? Some of them state where the fiber is either coming from or heading to and the others just say fiber distribution. Can we assume these are the Tr’s we are running the new fiber to and some of these are existing fiber? These cabinet numbers do not match up to the ones on drawing T-504. So, there is some confusion with these locations. Can we get more clarity?
B01 would be B1 on T-101. The b side string has been mirrored and the syntax clarified on the revised drawing set.
Some of the manholes on drawing T-601 do not matchup to the locations on drawing CU101. Can we get some accurate drawings that matchup?
There is not a building 12 on the T-601 drawings but we are running a duct bank to it on the CU101 drawings. Is there supposed to be SM fiber running to building 12? There is also not a building 115 on the fiber riser drawing T-601 but duct bank is being installed to it on drawing CU101. Is there supposed to be SM fiber running to it also? Ductbanks have been clarified. Run to 115 is for electrical
If the fibers in building 107 originate from one of the TR’s on the first floor is there supposed to be (1) or (2) mm fibers that run to the other TR on the first floor? If they originate on the second floor do both TR’s on the first floor get (1) or (2) mm fibers to each of them?
Disregard multimode fiber reference. Has been removed in revised drawing.
The plumbing drawings show a roof drain, with no overflow. Typically, we see an overflow for roof drains. Please confirm no overflows are required.
NO roof drains are shown on Plumbing drawings. The roof is drained by external gutters and downspouts (see architecture drawings). There are two AREA drains in the service yard (ground level). No overflow is required for the area drain.
Drawing T-601 the callout “(7) 24 MMFO AND 24 SMFO” this appear to be a typo as it conflicts sheet note “B”. Please confirm this should read “(7) 24
SMFO” and update the drawing accordingly.
Disregard multimode fiber reference. Has been removed in revised drawing.
Drawing T-601 the callout “(19) 24SM OS2” appears not to include (1) SM
OS2 for Building 162 Room 1E-134. This miscalculation continues in following aggregation of cables to Bldg 166. Please confirm the number of cables being placed for this project and update the drawing accordingly.
Include (1) 24SM OS2 from building 162 room 1E-134 back to building
166.

Drawing T-504/Detail 1- Cabinets “A01&A02” depicts the “A-Loop” OSP
Fiber Distribution Racks and Enclosures. For the fiber cables which are to be intercepted and rehomed to the new DC. The note on the drawing TS-
102 “Tech Site Plan” states (28) 24MMFO/24SMFO are to rehomed. Per
Detail 1 there are (37) cables to be rehomed.
a. Please confirm the correct number of cables that are to be rehomed to the new DC?
b. Please provide details on the desired orientation of MM/SM splice cassettes in the individual enclosures.
50 is the correct number of 24 SMFO/ 24 mmfo cables. Splice cassettes should be horizontial.
Drawing T-504/Detail 2- Cabinet “B03” fiber aggregation panels appear to be duplicates of panel in Cabinet “B04”. Please confirm if these are required? B03 fiber aggrigation panels are redundant.
