1. 1-19-21 2/12/21 Would full size/to scale drawings be available from the architect? It looks like most of the drawings provided are scanned copies and they are not full size, so when we are trying to scale them for estimating purposes the scale is off.

12. 2-5-21 2/12/21 Ref Section: 071113 Bituminous Damp proofing:
Please clarify that a damp proofing is desired at the foundation walls and not an actual waterproofing material. Typically, on past St Cloud VA projects a self-adhering membrane is utilized at foundation wall locations such as WR Meadows Mel Rol. Note, damp proofing does not resist hydrostatic water pressure.
Reference 07 13 52 “Modified Bituminous Sheet Waterproofing” which has been added to the original specifications.
13. 2-5-21 2/12/21 Ref Section: 071113 Bituminous Damp proofing:
Reference the typical wall section detail on drawing AE601 keynote 3. Fluid applied air barriers cannot be sprayed below grade, assuming this note should be for the damp proofing and or if you elect to change it to waterproofing as noted above.
Reference 07 13 52 “Modified Bituminous Sheet Waterproofing” which has been added to the original specifications.
14. 2-5-21 2/12/21 Ref Section: 071113 Bituminous Damp proofing:
Is the damp proofing/waterproofing to terminate @ top of foundation wall or carry up the vertical face of the precast floor plank. Would be helpful to have a detail for the brick ledge for typical wall sections such as A,B,C on
AE601
Reference 07 13 52 “Modified Bituminous Sheet Waterproofing” which has been added to the original specifications.
15. 2-5-21 2/12/21 Ref Section 072726 Fluid Applied Membrane Air Barriers, Vapor Permeable:
Page 3 of the spec under letter C. Installer qualifications and also under 3.3 quality control mentions the use of ABAA quality assurance program and testing. This is a very expensive form of testing that we as the contractor are to include in our proposals. On all past STC VA projects in the last several years this has always been eliminated and not required as the VA utilizes their own testing agency(s) for the air barrier which is a far more economical approach. Is ABAA quality assurance program and testing required or can this be eliminated?
Yes, the ABAA quality assurance program and testing can be eliminated

16. 2-5-21 3/18/21 Ref Section 099100 Painting:
Page 10 of the spec under 3.3 General Workmanship Requirements letter A states: Application may be by brush or roller. Spray application only upon acceptance from the COR in writing. Being that this is essentially a standalone building can the painting contractor figure to spray apply the paint?
No spray applied allowed inside the building envelope.
17. 2-5-21 2/12/21 Ref wall sections in sheets AE 601 to AE 604 at the foundation have Coded Note 4:
This states: 2” rigid perimeter insulation (min. R-5-5 per inch) which would total an R-11 on two-inch foam. Rigid insulation is a R-5 per inch so 2” rigid would give a total of an R-10 otherwise we would need to figure 2.5-inch insulation which would bring the R value up to 12.5. Is 2” 25PSI (R-10) insulation acceptable at the foundation walls?
Yes, 2” 25PSI (R-10) insulation is acceptable at the foundation walls
18. 2-5-21 2/12/21 The scale used in the dimension plans AE101 and AE102 appears to be different from the scale noted in the drawing block title of the same. This issue would apply to other plans as well. Please clarify which scale to use.
See response to question #1.
