General Notes

· All points below are subject to change and will be communicated at pre-construction kickoff

· Project has multiple phases and touches every floor of Building 26, some floors more than others.

· Early Coordination and frequent communication with the occupants of each phase being closed off for construction is paramount to customer satisfaction and buy-in.

· The closer we can work to the schedule and communicate when/where/how long the space will be closed, the better.

· Some work will require night and/or evening work.

· Especially for construction activities that have excessive noise (hammer drill, saw cutting, etc.) or vibration that can affect patient quality of care.

· Normal facility operating hours are 0700-1600 (7:00 am – 5:00 pm) Monday through Friday, but patients and staff are present to some extent 24/7

· Quiet Hours are 2000-0800 (8:00 pm – 8:00 am) every day

· Contractors must park in general parking

· NO PARKING IN THE GARAGE – garage is patient parking only!

· Can park temporarily in patient/staff parking to unload/load supplies and equipment, but then must move vehicle to general parking.

· Campus is smoke free

· No smoking/vaping apparatuses allowed on any KCVA campus.

· KCVA currently enforces the following minimum PPE requirements when inside a construction zone, regardless of construction activities taking place:

· Hardhat

· Safety-toe footwear

· Eye protection

· Expect nearly all locations to require Level III or IV ICRA precautions.

· Includes exhausting air to exterior with minimum distance requirement to air intake locations.

· If construction work is being done, there shall be a GC superintendent/representative present on campus for the duration of the construction activities. Any changes must be communicated in writing prior to a different acting superintendent being assigned to the project.

· Contractor to coordinate construction material/equipment laydown and mobile office laydown area with COR. The map indicates where we are currently anticipating lay-down for SPS, but this could change depending on other projects that are in the queue for construction:
