About this file
This document contains responses to pre-bid questions for a federal construction project to fix Legionella deficiencies at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wisconsin. The project involves renovations to building corridors and patient rooms, including installation of one-hour fire-rated barriers when fire suppression or alarm systems are impacted. Overnight work will generally be required in corridors unless an alternative plan is approved. Shutdowns require seven days' notice. The superintendent cannot serve as quality control but may also be the safety officer. Bids must be submitted via mail rather than email to the attention of specified recipients by the closing date. Subcontracting limitations will follow guidance in the solicitation rather than a separate form.
