Responses to RFI’s submitted on 6/22/2021
1. Schedule 2 weeks in between phases for staff to move.
2. Room C238 was originally part of the project scope when the abatement survey was conducted but was later removed during the design phase. C238 is NOT part of the construction scope of work. Room C202 was mislabeled in the Asbestos Abatement spec as 202C. C202 is the current Nuclear Medicine Reading Room that will become part of the new Nuclear Medicine & Cardiology Waiting room designated by room C202 on the construction drawings. This room IS part of the construction scope of work.
3. This project was sent back from contracting as they will not start working on it until October. As a result, it may get awarded in January and construction will probably not start until April. Construction will take a year to complete for this project.
4. Daily construction photos, taken by the on-site project superintendent, that document the construction progress is acceptable. Interior Progressions shall track interior improvements beginning when stud work commences and continuing until Project completion. Upon completion of the project the Architect will schedule with the COR to photograph the final completed work which will emphasize the ‘public areas’ that include the new Check-In, Waiting areas, Greeter Station & new Corridor finishes. All photographic documentation shall be submitted to the COR.
5. Yes, final inspection of firestopping is required to verify all fire rated assemblies are constructed per the design documents.
6. Duplicate of RFI #5 question.
7. To minimize phasing overlap with the relocation of the existing fan coil, the fan coil should be removed during off hours during phase 1.1. For temporary ventilation to A202-Reception until it is renovated in phase 1.3, the existing supply diffuser located in A202-Reception shall remain and be tied into the new air terminal unit VAV-3 which is installed during phase 1.1. Removal of the existing fan coil should be coordinated with the installation of VAV-3 to minimize downtime of HVAC system serving A202-Reception.
