RFIs Regarding Solicitation 36C24718B0635, Replace/Upgrade Electrical
Swithchgear Phase III
1. Alternate Bid Deduct #1 and #3 refer to sheet number E214. We cannot locate sheet E214 nor is it listed on the cover sheet G000 -please provide sheet E214. Drwg E214 provided.
2. On the MV single line drawing (E102), demolition note #2 calls for the corresponding MV feeder to the transformers to be demolished, with new work note #2 calling for the installation of MV feeder.
Based off of what is shown on the single line, are we to only demo out the wire for these feeds and put new wires into the existing conduit, or do we need to put in new conduit for the entirety of the feed?
As per note #2 on E102, Demo the existing/corresponding MV Feeder wire to the transformers and replace with new MV Feeder wire. Re-use existing conduit if NEC Compliant and feasible.
3. On E212 drawing note 1 for the new generation it state location on roof of first for new
1000kVA/1250W Diesel generator in a weather proof enclosure. Coordinate generator location and installation with structural and architectural. I didn’t see any drawing pertaining to a structural enclosure, so please advise if there will be an enclosure or not. Yes, Generator needs to be in
Weatherproof Enclosure. Call Gen Manufacturer for Enclosure Details.
4. I also need as-built drawing for the area under the roof for the generator. Area under roof for
Generator is shown on Architectural Drawings.
5. Also, is it required to be a General Contractor in the State of Alabama? Refer to Block 10 the only requirements for this solicitation is stated.
Is this project exempt from the bid laws for the General Contractor in the State of Alabama? I am not aware of any exemption.
