All other VISN 5 facilities are currently utilizing disposable sharps containers. At this point there is no expectation that reusable sharps containers will be used at the other facilities, however if it is determined to be needed in the future, a bilateral modification will be incorporated by means of vendor quotation. The same bilateral modification will be incorporated should a facility using a reusable sharps exchange program go to disposable containers. Once determined to be fair and reasonable by the Contracting Officer, this change will be within the scope of this IDIQ.

NO sharps containers are allowed to sit directly on the floor without a dolly or cart. The contractor will use reusable sharps containers that are closable, puncture resistant, leak proof on the sides and bottom, and labeled or color coded in accordance with 29CFR1910.1030(G)(1)(I) and in compliance with US DOT shipping requirements.
