About this file

This document appears to be a footprint and clearance requirements specification for a 40 KVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to be installed at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DC VAMC) as part of a Core Lab electrical upgrade project. The specification outlines the required clearances around the UPS, including 36 inches at the front, 24 inches at the sides and rear, and 36 inches at the top to allow for installation and servicing. The related federal contract opportunity is a request for quotes (RFQ) for the electrical contractor to install the power distribution and interface the UPS in the Core Lab space. The RFQ specifies the scope of work, which includes installing power circuits from a new panelboard supplied by the UPS output to the various equipment locations in Suite GB 200.

Footprint and Clearance Requirements

UPS Clearances:

Front 36"

Sides 24"

Rear 24"

Top 36"

NOTE: The front and side clearances on the UPS are required for the installation and servicing of the UPS and batteries.

6” side spacing may be maintained for normal UPS operation as long as the UPS is connected with flexible conduit; so as to move unit to open space with adequate side access for routine servicing.
