About this file
This addendum and federal contract opportunity document provide details for renovating and expanding a 47-bed domiciliary pod and replacing air handling units at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in West Virginia. The solicitation seeks a construction contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools and supervision for the project, including renovating an existing 17,600 square foot single story domiciliary building that is 30 years old and adding 5,000 square feet of new construction. The project will abate asbestos floor tile and duct mastic, as well as exterior transite facia and soffit panels. Competition is restricted to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. Interested SDVOSBs must be verified in the VIP vendor database and registered in SAM.gov. The estimated construction cost range is $5-10 million. The pre-bid site visit will be held at the specified date and location, with questions due in writing to the contracting officer. The solicitation and plans will be available on or about September 9, 2021, with an approximate bid opening of October 13, 2021. Award will be made to the responsive, responsible bidder with the lowest price.
