Northport VA Medical Center:
1. Under the department of labor wage requirements, the cooling tower cleanings are done by company employees hired for general labor. We would like to confirm that Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Laborer 23470 is an acceptable choice of category for the tower cleaning wage category. We are expecting the contractor to comply with the wage determination of each facility location.
2. As a fixed rate contract, we can calculate chemical usage under normal conditions and allow a percentage overage. However, facility issues that could cause excessive chemical need could occur if the cooling tower overflows for an extended period, softener fails and is not repaired in a timely manner, closed loop has excessive water loss, etc. Is it safe to assume the facility understands we cannot account for these issues in our pricing and will have to sell the overages in chemical off contract if they occur? This is a firm fixed price contract for the specific requirement within the solicitation.
The facility understands bidders cannot account for these issues in their pricing. Adjustments based on actual water flows may have to be made such as a contract modification.
3. The reporting requirements seem to require service reports quarterly and not per visit. What is the actual service reporting requirements?
A written report is required to be sent electronically at the end of each visit, as described under REPORTING section on page 5 of the solicitation. Other specific reporting requirements are described in the SOW, and must be provided.
4. The quarterly written electronic log seems redundant. If we supply a service report each visit instead of quarterly will this satisfy the requirement?
An electronic written report is to be provided per visit and other quarterly reports is to be provided as per SOW.
