1.96Can you please clarify if the sign quantity of “0” on the signage schedule is true? The subcontractor was also looking to receive clarification on the type of signage system to be used. See below:
I am more concerned with the section of the specs that say that the sign needs to be able to be converted to many other sizes, without removing the base. That’s extra parts (or a specific system).WayfindingRefer to signage schedule on sheet 1-A1302 and signage location plan on sheet 1-A1304W; Contractor responsible for quantity count take off from documentation. Regarding the signage system and spec, the signage design and construction is based on VA standards and intended to match those standards and other signage in the facility. This spec note is referring to the construction of the sign, where outer frame jointage allows the sign to extend downward if sign messaging or functionality changes. See VA Signage Design Guide and refer to signage drawing sheets 1-A1311 through 1-A1313 in architectural package.
1.97Detail C3 on dwg 1-A452 indicates “1-1/4” Thermal barrier coating” over spray foam. Based on the application, in absence of a specification for this exact item/application we believe that an ignition barrier, DC 315 is what should be used. In the alternate, we have attached the data for an 1-1/4” ignition barrier to be Ure-K (an ignition barrier and added R-value.) Ure-K is a sprayed cellulose product. I have attached both for review. Please confirm the product to be used. Also please confirm the exact extent of this product on the exterior wall, as there are some details that do not show this product over the spray foam, example detail F5/1-A451ArchitectureExtent for this product is only at radiator enclosures. Sheet 1-A451 plan section B6 is intended to show where the use of this fluid thermal barrier is to terminate. In all other areas the continuous thermal barrier is achieved with drywall. The proposed product would be considered, but would require to be vetted with formal submittal of product data.NA
