About this file
This is a Scope of Work specification document for Section 265600 Exterior Lighting, which is part of Project 25-388 CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade. The specification outlines requirements for the installation of exterior luminaires, poles, and associated accessories. The work includes furnishing complete exterior lighting systems with luminaires from approved manufacturers including Acuity Brands, Alloy LED, Cooper Lighting, Electro-Matic Visual, Hubbell Lighting, and Philips Lighting North America Corporation. All luminaires must comply with UL 1598 standards and NFPA 70 requirements. Poles must be steel construction in square straight configuration, installed on concrete foundations at heights indicated on project drawings, and furnished with handholes, anchor bolts with leveling nuts, anchor base covers, and provisions for pole-mounted weatherproof GFI receptacles where specified. The specification requires coordination with utilities and other trades regarding pole placement and foundation elevation, with all conflicts or deviations to be reported to the Architect prior to proceeding.
Installation must comply with NECA/IESNA 501 standards for exterior lighting systems and manufacturer's written instructions. Luminaires must be installed plumb and square with proper alignment to building lines and adjacent units. All poles must be installed plumb using leveling nuts or shims as required, with anchor bolt nuts tightened to manufacturer specifications. Bonding of luminaires, metal accessories, metal poles, and foundation reinforcement to the branch circuit equipment grounding conductor is required. Service conductors of 12 AWG copper must be installed from each luminaire to the handhole for connection to branch circuit conductors. Upon completion, all luminaires must be cleaned according to NECA/IESNA 501 standards and manufacturer instructions to remove dirt and restore finishes to original factory condition. The specification references IEEE C2 National Electrical Safety Code (2023), NECA 1 Standard for Good Workmanship (2023), and the most recent edition of NFPA 70 adopted by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
