About this file

This is a Commercial General Liability Insurance Descriptor for rigging services at the Ocean Center, a convention center and arena facility operated by the County of Volusia in Florida. The County seeks qualified rigging contractors to serve as the exclusive provider of rigging services, equipment, and personnel for all overhead rigging systems across both facilities. The Ocean Center comprises a 93,028 square foot convention center with 32-foot ceiling height and 3,500-pound load capacity per point, hosting approximately 50 events annually, and an arena with 7,010 fixed seats, 45-foot ceiling height, and a permanent rigging grid with specified beam configurations accommodating approximately 60 events per year. Primary services required include motor and chain hoist services, truss system design and installation, rigging hardware supply, lighting and audio rigging, and scenic rigging support. The contractor will have access to facility equipment including two forklifts, two electric scissor lifts, and one electric boom lift with 60-foot working height.

The insurance requirements mandate that the contractor obtain and maintain Commercial General Liability insurance with limits as specified in the contract documents, issued on an occurrence basis and covering bodily injury, property damage, personal and advertising injury, and products liability. The County must be named as an additional insured through ISO Endorsements CG 20 38 and CG 20 37, and the policy must include Rigger's Liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage during loading, unloading, rigging, installation, and disassembly operations. The policy shall provide waiver of subrogation in favor of the County and other required additional insureds, and must be endorsed as primary and non-contributory to any insurance maintained by the County or other parties named as additional insureds.

Text version

A. Commercial General Liability Insurance. Contractor shall obtain and maintain Commercial General Liability insurance, with limits of not less than the amounts shown in Figure 1. Contractor shall not obtain an insurance policy wherein the policy limits are reduced by defense and claim expenses. Such insurance shall be issued on an occurrence basis and include coverage for the Contractor’s operations, independent Contractors, and Subcontractors for claims for damages caused by bodily injury, property damage, or personal or advertising injury, and products liability/completed operations including what is commonly known as Coverages A and B. Such policies shall include coverage for claims by any person as a result of actions by the Contractor or by any of its Subcontractors arising from work or services performed under the Agreement. The commercial general liability policy shall provide coverage to County when it is required to be named as an additional insured either by endorsement or pursuant to a blanket additional insured endorsement, for those sources of liability which would be covered by the latest edition of the standard Commercial General Liability Coverage Form (ISO Form CG 00 01), as filed for use in the State of Florida by the Insurance Services Office, without the attachment of any endorsements excluding or limiting coverage for Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Products/Completed Operations, Independent Contractors, Property of County in Contractor’s Care, Custody or Control or Property of County on which contracted operations are being performed, Explosion, Collapse or Underground hazards (XCU Coverage), Contractual Liability or Separation of Insureds.

County shall be added as additional insured to Contractor’s policy by both ISO Endorsements CG 20 38 (Premises & Operations) and CG 20 37 (Products & Completed Operations) or their equivalents. If County has agreed by separate contract to require Contractor to name another party as an additional insured, Contractor shall add said party as an additional insured to the commercial general liability policy by ISO Endorsement CG 20 38 and CG 20 37, or their equivalents.

Policy shall be endorsed with Rigger’s Liability to include coverage for Bodily Injury and Property Damage. Policy shall provide coverage for damage to property of others while property is under Contractor’s care, custody, and control for purposes of loading, unloading, rigging, installation, and disassembly of machinery or equipment being moved, erected, hoisted, lifted, or lowered. Policy shall provide for operations incident to a rigging project and include coverage for the transportation and storage of property by Contractor or others on behalf of Contractor.

Policy shall be endorsed to provide a waiver of subrogation in favor of the County and any other party required by this Agreement to be named as an additional insured. Policy shall be endorsed to be primary and non-contributory to any insurance or self-insurance maintained by the County or any other party required by this agreement to be named as an additional insured.
