About this file
This is Addendum 3 to Invitation to Bid 53-ITB-26 for Building E Third Floor Buildout, issued by the City of Palm Bay, Florida, located at 120 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907-3009. The addendum addresses bidder inquiries regarding the lighting fixture selection and substitution process for the project. The document provides clarification on the proper procedure for lighting suppliers and contractors to submit proposed equivalent lighting fixture products for review during the bid period.
In response to a bidder question, the City clarified that all proposed lighting fixture substitution packages must be submitted via Bonfire prior to the questions deadline. Submission materials should include manufacturer cut sheets, specifications, and fixture cross-references. The City will review submitted substitutions and issue an addendum documenting any approved alternatives. This process ensures all prospective bidders receive consistent information regarding acceptable product substitutions before bid submission.

Addendum 3
TO ALL PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
The purpose of this addendum is to provide the following changes, modifications and/or additions to the contract documents and technical specifications.
QUESTIONS RECEIVED:
1. QUESTION: We have reviewed the lighting fixture schedule and have identified potential equivalent products for several of the specified fixtures. Could you please confirm the proper procedure for a lighting supplier to submit proposed fixture substitutions for review during the bid period? Specifically, should we submit the proposed substitution package directly to the City through OpenGov, including the manufacturer cut sheets/specifications and fixture cross-reference, or should the package be submitted through a bidding General Contractor or Electrical Contractor? Please also advise where the substitution documents should be uploaded or sent for review and approval.
RESPONSE: Please provide the substitution specifications package you are proposing via Bonfire for review prior to the questions deadline. An addendum will be issued with any approved substitutions.
