About this file
This is a Utility Work Schedule document prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in coordination with Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), the utility agency owner, for the 16th Street NE Bridge Project (Financial Project ID: 451283-1-58-01) located in Collier County, Florida. The schedule addresses the relocation and adjustment of FPL's overhead and buried electric distribution facilities within the project limits, spanning from station 1025+22 to station 1174+13. The utility work is estimated to require 90 consecutive calendar days during FDOT project construction, with no preparatory work required prior to construction commencement. FPL's designated project representative and field representative is Michael Martinez, Relocation Coordinator, reachable at 239-353-6047 or michael.martinez@fpl.com. The utility work schedule was submitted by FPL on September 22, 2023, and approved by FDOT's Roadway Engineer of Record and Utility Coordinator, Jesse E. Gill, P.E., on March 15, 2024, in accordance with the 2017 Utility Accommodation Manual.
The work activities include the installation and removal of overhead electric facilities (Activity 1) requiring 30 days during construction, with commencement dependent on completion of clearing and grubbing, right-of-way staking, and silt fence installation activities, and buried electric facilities (Activity 2) requiring 60 days during construction, dependent on completion of Activity 1. FPL has identified two special conditions: line crew availability may be limited due to emergency response requirements depending on severity, and all phase-to-phase voltage for FPL distribution facilities within project limits is below 50 kilovolt. The utility work schedule is based on FDOT plans dated August 10, 2023, and any deviation from these plans by FDOT or its contractor may void the schedule, with renegotiation available upon notification of plan changes.
