About this file
This is a Utility Work Schedule prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the 16th Street NE Bridge Project in Collier County, Florida. The document outlines the coordination and timing requirements for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) to relocate and adjust its electrical utilities within the project area as part of the overall infrastructure improvement initiative. The utility work includes the removal and installation of overhead electric lines spanning from station 1025+22 to 1174+13 and buried electric lines from station 1025+26 to 1026+06. FPL's primary project representative is Michael Martinez, Relocation Coordinator, and the work is coordinated with the project's Engineer of Record, Jesse E. Gill, P.E. The utility relocation work is scheduled to occur during the 520-day FDOT project construction period, with the overhead electric work requiring 30 consecutive calendar days and the buried electric work requiring 60 consecutive calendar days, totaling 90 days of utility work during construction.
The utility work schedule is based on FDOT plans dated August 10, 2023, and was submitted on September 22, 2023, with final approval by the Engineer of Record on March 15, 2024. FPL's line crew availability may be limited due to required response to emergency conditions, with the severity of the emergency dictating the extent of limitations. The electrical facilities within the project limits operate at phase-to-phase voltages below 50 kilovolts. All utility work must comply with the 2017 Utility Accommodation Manual and requires FPL to obtain a utility permit. FPL is not responsible for events beyond its control that could not be reasonably anticipated and could not be avoided with the exercise of due diligence at the time of occurrence. Prior written notification to FDOT and the contractor is required before starting, stopping, resuming, and completing work under this utility work schedule.

This utility work schedule is based on FDOT plans dated in the project information box below. Any deviation by FDOT or its contractor from these plans, may void this utility work schedule. Upon notification by FDOT of a change to these plans, the UAO may negotiate a new utility work schedule. The UAO agrees to notify FDOT and the contractor in writing prior to starting, stopping, resuming, and completing work in accordance with this utility work schedule. The UAO shall obtain a utility permit and comply with requirements of the 2017 Utility Accommodation Manual (UAM) for all work done under this utility work schedule. The UAO is not responsible for events beyond the control of the UAO that could not be reasonably anticipated by the UAO and which could not be avoided by the UAO with exercise of due diligence at the time of the occurrence.
