About this file
This is a Utility Work Schedule document prepared by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in accordance with Section 337.403 of Florida Statutes, detailing utility relocation and adjustment requirements for Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) on the 16th Street NE Bridge Project (Financial Project ID: 451283-1-58-01) in Collier County. The document authorizes FPL to relocate and adjust overhead and buried electric distribution facilities within the project limits between stations 1025+22 and 1174+13. FPL is required to complete overhead electric line work involving clearing, grubbing, right-of-way staking, and silt fence installation within 30 calendar days prior to or during FDOT project construction, while buried electric line work must be completed within 60 calendar days during construction. All utility work must comply with the 2017 Utility Accommodation Manual and requires FPL to obtain appropriate utility permits. The schedule was developed based on FDOT plans dated August 10, 2023, and was approved by FDOT Roadway Engineer of Record and Utility Coordinator Jesse E. Gill on March 15, 2024, with FPL representative Michael Martinez signing on September 22, 2023.
FPL's work activities are dependent upon FDOT's completion of clearing and grubbing activities, and the utility company must provide written notification to FDOT and the project contractor prior to starting, stopping, resuming, and completing work. The schedule identifies that FPL line crew availability may be affected by required emergency response conditions and notes that all FPL distribution facilities within the project limits operate at phase-to-phase voltages below 50 kilovolts. FPL is not responsible for events beyond its control that could not be reasonably anticipated or avoided through due diligence. Any deviation by FDOT or its contractor from the August 10, 2023 plans may void this utility work schedule, and FPL may negotiate a new schedule upon notification of plan changes from FDOT.
