INFORMATION LETTER NO. 8
The following questions have been received for clarification. The Department of Water Resources (DWR) answers are given immediately following the questions.
Question No. 1: We are requesting a 1 week bid extension for the Lake Perris
Emergency Release Facility project. Addendum 4 was released 2 days before bids are due, which doesn’t give subcontractors and suppliers sufficient time to adjust their quotes per addendum 4 and information letter 7. With the holiday weekend many subcontractors and suppliers will be out of the office Friday and Monday. With an 11:00 am hand delivered bid on Wednesday prime contractors need quotes on Tuesday. This just doesn’t give contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers enough time to make adjustments.
Answer: Bid opening will take place as scheduled.
Question No. 2: When the Temporary Road is in place at Lake Perris Drive (Stages
1 & 2), is it necessary to maintain the capacity of the culvert at station 21+00?
Answer: Please refer to Section 02240 – Dewatering, Paragraph 3.02 A for maintaining drainage during construction.
