About this file

This is an Addendum to Bidding Documents for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Stumpy Basin Boardwalk Replacement Project located in Brecksville, Ohio (PMIS No. 245391). The addendum modifies the original specifications and drawings issued by the National Park Service, Interior Regions 3, 4, and 5, with an effective date of 19 May 2026.

Key modifications include: (1) extending the Period of Performance from 180 calendar days to 270 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed; (2) requiring the contractor to provide and plant 60 trees (20 trees each of three species) with a minimum 1-inch caliper, grown bag or container nursery stock, within the limits of disturbance while avoiding encroachment on the new boardwalk structure, with locations flagged in the field based on suitable placement; (3) clarifying that the 10-inch round timber piece length shall vary based on finish elevation and helical anchor saddle position at installation, with the member cut to fit; and (4) modifying connector specifications to require APVA21 connectors be hot-dip galvanized or manufacturer's standard corrosion-resistant coating (such as ZMAX by Simpson Strong Tie or equivalent) rather than stainless steel, with all associated fasteners compatible with the connector coating per manufacturer recommendations. Additionally, the addendum reassigns quality control and testing responsibilities from the Contracting Officer to the Contractor for aggregates, asphalt paving, compaction and moisture testing, and eliminates references to Section 01 40 00 (Quality Requirements) and the requirement to attach completed Statements of Structural Tests and Inspections to Division 1 specifications.
