Addendum to Bidding Documents – Cuyahoga Valley National Park Stumpy Basin Boardwalk Replacement Project
This addendum (ADDM-01) issued by the National Park Service on 6 May 2026 modifies the bidding documents for the Stumpy Basin Boardwalk Replacement Project located at 15610 Vaughn Road, Brecksville, OH 44141 (PMIS No. 245391). The addendum makes three substantive changes to the specifications and drawings. First, it revises the period of performance from 180 calendar days to 270 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Second, it adds detailed requirements for tree planting on Sheet C103, specifying that the contractor shall provide and plant 60 trees consisting of 20 trees per each of three species, with a minimum 1-inch caliper from grow bag or container nursery stock, planted within disturbance limits while avoiding encroachment on the new boardwalk structure, with locations flagged in the field by the contractor and Contracting Officer's Representative based on suitable placement.
The third change modifies Sheet S101, Detail 2 regarding the typical boardwalk elevation and details. The addendum clarifies that the 10-inch round timber piece length shall vary based on the finish elevation of the boardwalk and position of the helical anchor saddle at installation, with the member cut to fit. Additionally, it eliminates the stainless steel specification for APVA21 connectors and instead requires hot-dip galvanized or manufacturer's standard corrosion-resistant coating such as ZMAX by Simpson Strong Tie or equivalent, with all associated fasteners for these connectors to be compatible with the connector coating in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
