About this file
This file contains construction specification documents and solicitation questions for the Lowell National Historical Park Parkwide Bathrooms rehabilitation project, identified as PMIS 312999 B and NPS 140P2021D0004, with a solicitation date of 05/18/2023.
The construction documents specify requirements for solid plastic toilet compartments (Section 10 21 13) and concrete unit masonry work (Section 04 20 00). For toilet compartments, the specification designates Bradley No-Site Bradmar Series 400 Sentinel as the basis of design, with acceptable alternatives from Hadrian, Inc. or General Partitions Mfg. Corporation. Required components include high-density polyethylene (HDPE) panels at least 1 inch thick with 72-inch panel heights, overhead-braced floor-mounted toilet enclosures, wall-hung urinal screens, heavy-duty extruded aluminum posts (82.75 inches high), chrome-plated zamac hardware, self-closing integral hinges, and heat-sink strips on exposed edges. Panels must comply with ASTM E 84 surface-burning characteristics with a smoke-developed index of 450 or less, include minimum 30 percent preconsumer recycled content, and meet ADA-ABA accessibility guidelines. Color selection is Midnight-Orange Peel or as otherwise selected by the Contracting Officer. For concrete masonry unit work, the specification requires 4-inch nominal hollow concrete masonry units (CMUs) manufactured by Genest Concrete Works, Inc. or equal locally sourced materials complying with ASTM C90. Installation requires standard Type N mortar by Sakrete or approved equal, regular running bond pattern unless otherwise indicated, standard-level workmanship with units laid dry and level/plumb to indicated heights, and immediate cleaning of mortar and grout spills. The documents include detailed submittals requirements, quality assurance standards, installation procedures, and field measurements for patching areas on existing walls undergoing selective demolition. A hand-drawn sketch depicts toilet compartment stall configurations with nominal dimensions and cross-bracing details.
