About this file
This document is an amendment to a Request for Information (RFI) for the North East Regional Office (NERO) IT Helpdesk Service Contract (Solicitation Number: 140P4324Q0035). The RFI amendment addresses a question regarding the estimated timeline for the background investigation process and issuance of a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card for a candidate to begin work and be billed as a full-time employee (FTE). The government response indicates there is no way to provide an estimate, as the timeline varies for each individual based on their unique background. The contract is issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Northeast Region.

Amendment 0009
RFI 27
27. Can you please provide an estimated timeline from the start of the background investigation process to when a candidate is issued a PIV card and can officially begin work and be billed as an FTE? Specifically, we need to understand how long the background investigation and PIV issuance typically take, so we can align the FTE start and bill date accordingly.
Government Response: There is no way to give an estimate on this as every individual is different and everyone has a different background. This is not an estimate that can be provided by NPS.
