About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation 140P4226Q0047 regarding fire and security alarm panel replacement at Valley Forge National Historical Park in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Northeast Region.

The document addresses two key clarifications from potential bidders. First, regarding system integration, the government confirmed that current intrusion detection devices should be connected to the new fire panel, creating a unified all-in-one panel system rather than separate systems. Second, concerning equipment specifications, the solicitation references a Waveform MIMO 22 Log Periodic External Antenna Kit (legacy SKUs: MIMO-LP-KIT / MIMO-LP-KIT-15 and surge-protected variants), which has been discontinued by the manufacturer. The government indicated that bidders may substitute equivalent replacement products as needed, provided they meet the functional requirements of the original specification.

140P4226Q0047 – VAFO Security Upgrades Q & A

1. When I walked the site, the fire and intrusion system were on one panel. Do they want the current intrusion devices to be connected to the new fire panel?

Yes. All in one panel.

2. The solicitation's wording is essentially the product name of the old Waveform MIMO 2×2 Log Periodic External Antenna Kit. The legacy Waveform SKUs included MIMO-LP-KIT / MIMO-LP-KIT-15 and surge-protected variants, but Waveform now identifies that product as discontinued. Is it ok to replace as needed?

This one is acceptable.
