Our blending procedure means brick can be laid up just as it comes off the package without concern for concentrated color variances. Please be aware that these colors only reflect a portion of our product line. To view every color in our catalog, you can visit us online at beldenbrick.com.

WATERPROOFING

CCW MiraDRI® 860/861

Self-Adhering Sheet-Applied Waterproofing Membrane

SCIENCE. SERVICE. SOLUTIONS.

CCW MiraDRI: A Foolproof Waterproofing System

CCW MiraDRI self-adhering membranes are composite materials consisting of a specially formulated rubberized asphalt laminated to a high-impact-resistant HDPE fi lm. The CCW MiraDRI waterproofi ng system is designed to provide waterproofi ng protection for below-grade foundation walls, slabs, parking decks, plaza decks, tunnels and many applications. The CCW

MiraDRI waterproofi ng system consists of the self-adhering membrane, an environmentally friendly water-based primer for surface preparation, a liquid membrane for detailing and mastic to seal termination points.

The installed CCW MiraDRI waterproofi ng membrane is protected by

CCW MiraDRAIN drainage composites or a CCW Protection Course. CCW

MiraDRAIN drainage composites protect waterproofi ng systems and keep the water away from the building structure. CCW MiraDRAIN provides a cost-effective solution as compared to traditional protection boards and aggregate drainage systems.

Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofi ng, Inc. (CCW) provides a broad range of solutions to meet specifi c waterproofi ng needs. CCW offers technical services, research & development and manufacturing capabilities from its headquarters in Wylie, Texas and two additional manufacturing facilities in Terrell, TX and Carlisle, PA. The CCW network is further supported by over 50 manufacturer’s sales representatives directed by regional sales offi ces throughout the country. CCW offers a complete line of waterproofi ng and moisture protection products for the architectural, general construction, industrial and maintenance industries. Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofi ng, Inc., is part of the Carlisle Construction Materials Division of Carlisle Companies, Inc., which is a publicly traded company on the NYSE.

Protection from the damaging effects of water can be achieved quickly and easily with CCW MiraDRI 860/861.

Focusing on below-grade foundation walls, this peel-and-stick waterproofi ng membrane is easy to handle, simple to apply and provides long-lasting protection. CCW MiraDRI

860/861 works best when suited with the appropriate

CCW MiraDRAIN® Drainage System, which protects the membrane, provides a channel for water migration and eliminates hydrostatic pressure. With all the benefi ts of factory-controlled properties and the waterproofi ng characteristics of asphalt, CCW MiraDRI 860/861 is the easy choice for contractors and applicators alike.

CCW MiraDRI 860 Membrane is used for applications where surface temperatures are 40°F (4.4°C) and above. CCW MiraDRI 861 is specially formulated for applications with cooler surface temperatures down to 25°F

– 65°F (-3.9°C – 18°C). CCW MiraDRI 860/861 membranes should not be applied in temperatures below 25°F (-3.9°C).

Substrate Preparation: CCW MiraDRI 860/861 can be applied to concrete, metal, wood, insulated wall systems or masonry surfaces. All substrates must be clean, dry and free of surface irregularities.

Concrete Substrates: Structural concrete must be cured a minimum of seven days and lightweight structural concrete must cure a minimum of 14 days before the application of CCW MiraDRI 860/861. Repair surfaces that are not structurally sound, have voids, protrusions, rough spalled areas, loose aggregate or exposed course aggregate. Void areas should be fi lled with latex Portland cement, concrete or epoxy concrete and troweled smooth to match the existing surface. Protrusions and other rough areas should be ground down and patched as above. CCW LM-800XL, CCW-201, or CCW

703V Liquiseal may be used to fi ll small voids, honeycombs or bug holes.

Masonry Substrate: Rough masonry may require the surface to be parged with a plaster coat of cementitious material to form a well-adhered, smooth and uniform fi nish. Allow the parge coat to dry before priming and installing the CCW MiraDRI 860/861 waterproofi ng membrane.

Priming: Apply the appropriate CCW Contact Adhesive at the specifi ed coverage rate. Apply CCW Contact Adhesive with a lambswool roller, brush or spray apparatus. Allow Contact Adhesive to dry for a minimum of 30 minutes.

The CCW Contact Adhesive will dry to a tacky fi nish. Areas applied but not covered with CCW MiraDRI 860/861 within 24 hours should be re-applied.

Surface Preparation for Gypsum-Sheathing with Glass-Mat Facers:

When installing CCW sheet membranes and sheet fl ashings over gyp-sheathing with glass-mat facers, coverage rates for contact adhesives and primers will depend on the porosity and texture of the sheathing and will vary substantially by gypsum-sheathing brand and manufacturer. To achieve consistent contact adhesive and/or primer coverage with adequate tack, it may be necessary to decrease the coverage rate (i.e. increase the amount applied) of the contact adhesive and/or primer and/or the application of multiple coats. CCW Contact adhesives and primers shall be allowed to dry completely (lower temperatures will extend drying time) before additional coats are applied or membranes installed. Caution should be taken as contact adhesives and/or primers applied to gyp-sheathings with glass-mat facers will take longer to dry than other substrates. Multiple adhesion tests should be performed randomly to verify proper application of primer and ensure a successful application.

Membrane Application: Start membrane application by removing the release paper. Begin applying the membrane, beginning at the low point and working toward the high point. Side laps should be 2½" (6.3

cm) minimum and end laps should be 5" (12.7 cm) minimum. CCW recommends that the membrane be rolled in place immediately after its placement to ensure full adhesion to the primed substrate. A minimum

1" fi llet should be applied at juncture of footing and foundation wall. Double coverage should be used on all inside and outside corners using a 9" (22.9

cm) strip of CCW MiraDRI 860/861. All joints, drains, penetrations and protrusions should also receive double coverage. All terminations of the membrane should receive a troweled bead of CCW-704 Mastic, CCW LM-

800XL, CCW-201 or CCW 703V Liquiseal.

Membrane Protection: CCW MiraDRAIN Drainage Composites, CCW Protection Boards or CCW Protection Fabric should be applied at the end of each day’s work to avoid damage caused by other trades, construction materials or backfi ll. For more information on installation guidelines, refer to the Manufacturer’s Guide Specifi cation or contact your local CCW representative.

Product Data Sheet with PureFiber® Technology

Buildings utilizing curtainwall construction may be required to be equipped with a sprinkler system to provide adequate fire protection. Check local building codes for specific requirements.

Commercial roof/ceiling thermal applications require that the building envelope block the movement of air from the outdoor environment to the conditioned space. Neither the insulation nor its facing should be relied upon to provide an air barrier. Failure to provide an adequate air barrier could lead to loss of thermal control, discomfort of the building occupants and frozen pipes.

When insulation is added to the inside perimeter of a structure, the area outside the insulation becomes exposed to greater temperature extremes. Check for piping which should be protected against freezing.

The need for and placement of a vapor retarder in commercial construction depends on many factors. The architect or specifier should evaluate the requirements of each project. If a vapor retarder is specified, maintaining the facing integrity may be important for effective moisture/ humidity control. Repair any punctures or tears in the facing by taping. Follow the tape manufacturer’s application recommendations.

Insulation installed too close to light fixtures may affect the luminaire’s performance. Do not install insulation on top of or within 3" of recessed light fixtures unless the fixtures are approved for such use. This is a requirement of the National Electrical Code.

Due to the potential for skin irritation, EcoTouch® Unfaced Insulation should not be used for exposed applications where it will be subject to human contact.

Applicable Standards EcoTouch® Unfaced Insulation is manufactured in compliance with ASTM Standard Specification C665 and is classified noncombustible per ASTM E136.

EcoTouch® Kraft-faced Insulation is manufactured in compliance with ASTM C665, Type II, Class C. EcoTouch® Foil-faced Insulation is manufactured in compliance with ASTM C665, Type III, Class B and C. Federal Specification HH-I-521F has been canceled and is replaced by ASTM C665.

The thermal resistance values for EcoTouch® Insulation were tested in accordance with ASTM C518;

R-value for insulation only.

The surface burning characteristics of EcoTouch® Insulation were derived from products tested in accordance with ASTM E84. This standard is used solely to measure and describe properties of products in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions, and should not be used to describe or approve the fire hazard of materials under actual fire conditions. However, the results of these tests may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment that takes into account all of the factors pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use. Values are reported to the nearest five rating.

Product Data Sheet The vapor retarder permeance of the kraft and foil facings on EcoTouch® Insulation were developed from tests conducted in accordance with ASTM E96, desiccant method.

Installation Between Wood Studs/Rafters EcoTouch® Insulation fits between studs. If required, the flanges can be stapled to either the face or the side of the stud every 8–12" to prevent gaping or “fishmouthing” of the vapor retarder.

EcoTouch® Unfaced insulation can be friction-fit between studs after the cover material has been installed on one side of the cavity.

Use wire or metal straps to hold insulation in place in applications without a cover material, or where the insulation does not fill the depth of the cavity.

Cathedral ceiling products (R30C and R38C) are intended to be friction-fit between rafters.

Cathedral ceiling insulation should be installed to provide a minimum 1" ventilation passageway between the roof deck and insulation. (See Figure 1) It is recommended to use a vent baffle to assure proper clearance.

Between Metal Studs EcoTouch® Insulation can be friction-fit in place until the interior finish is applied. Insulation should fill the cavity and the wall should eventually be closed on both sides. (See Figure 2)

In areas where it will be applied in heights over 8', use wire or metal straps to hold the product in place until the interior finish is applied. When faced insulation is used, the attachment flanges may be taped to the face of the metal stud prior to applying the interior finish. Wire or metal straps should also be used to hold the product in place in applications without a cover material or where the stud depth is larger than the insulation thickness.

Furring Strips EcoTouch® Insulation can be applied between furring strips, hat channels, or Z-shaped furring in areas where a finish surface will be installed. Contact the furring strip manufacturer for appropriate fastening system.

Caution: FIBERGLAS™ insulation may cause temporary irritation to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, wear loose-fitting, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and eye protection when handling and applying the material. Wash with soap and cold water after handling. Wash work clothes separately and wipe out washer.

Notes

1. As manufactured, FIBERGLAS™ insulation is resistant to mold growth. However, mold growth can occur on building materials, including insulation, when it becomes contaminated with organic material and when water is present. To avoid mold growth on FIBERGLAS™ insulation, remove any water that has accumulated and correct or repair the source of the water as soon as possible. Insulation that has become wet should be inspected for evidence of residual moisture and contamination, and any insulation that is contaminated should be promptly removed and replaced.

DESCRIPTION

Johns Manville AP™ Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing board consists of a uniform closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam core bonded on each side to a foil facer. One side has a refl ective foil facer and the other side has a white non-refl ective foil facer to suit your building needs.

Polyiso provides one of the highest R-values per inch of any rigid insulation (R-6.0 at 1 inch). Furthermore, when properly installed, AP Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing functions as a water-resistive barrier, vapor barrier and air barrier, eliminating the need to install additional components.

AP Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing is produced with an EPA-compliant hydrocarbon-based blowing agent that has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and virtually no Global Warming Potential (GWP); it also meets both CFC- and HCFC-free specifi cation requirements. Polyiso is one of North America’s most widely used insulation products and has been cited by the EPA for its responsible impact on the environment.

AP Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing provides exceptional heat, moisture and air control to protect your building’s exterior wall assembly.

INSTALLATION

AP Foil-Faced Foam Sheathing is lightweight and can be easily cut with a utility knife or saw.

Use maximum board lengths to minimize the number of joints. Vertical joints should be staggered.

Butt joints should be centered over framing. To create a water-resistive barrier or an air barrier, treat seams and penetrations as instructed in the installation guide and in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
