The following are responses to Request for Information [RFIs] 51-56 and corrects or clarifies previous responses for RFIs 7, 26, 32, 46.
7. Please provide more information as to what hardware group pairs with door numbers.
REVISED ANSWER:
Contractor is to provide hardware schedule per Specifications Section 08 71 00 – Submittals and Substitutions
26. We have noticed that only the civil drawings are stamped and the architectural, electrical, structural and mechanical are not. Will this project require additional design and stamp by an engineer?
REVISED ANSWER:
Contract drawings provided are complete. Any additional design as required for project submittals, as delineated in the CONTRACT, will be the responsibility of the contractor.
32. Please provide preferred acoustical ceiling tile product to match for this project.
REVISED ANSWER:
Refer to Specification 09841 – Acoustical Panels. Specification and Replacement Page 28 of 58 – Section J List of Attachments – attached.
46. Site Visit question. Environmental assessment required by contractor? Environmentalist, biologist personnel required?
REVISED ANSWER:
Applies to building demolition only.
51. Can you please indicate what are the required amperages of the breakers for electrical panel F as these were not indicated on electrical plan E1.0.
ANSWER:
The circuit breaker required amperages were intentionally omitted from the drawings. The Panelboard schedule are estimated loads. Actual loads could vary in the field. Contractor shall submit proposed panelboard balanced schedule and circuit breaker sizing per 2017 NEC for approval.
52. Confirm the following. All windows in fire-prone areas including Santa Barbara Ranger District are required by law to be tempered glass
ANSWER:
Per window schedule note Sheet A5, Wildland Urban Interface requires all windows to be tempered glass
53. Per interior Finish Schedule on A5 and base on RFI 11, answered on Amendment 002 – Finish Schedule calls Sealer on different rooms. On the answered question 11: Related Sections as called out in Specification 09 65 13 changed to “Concrete” and “Chemically Stained Concrete Floor”. Eliminate “Polished Concrete Floor Finishing” and “Concrete Floor Sealer”. We still don’t have any Concrete Floor Sealer on the specifications, and if you changing to “concrete” and “concrete floor sealer” we didn’t receive the updated specification. I still need clarifications if require Stained Concrete Floor instead of sealer or get the sealer spec.
ANSWER:
Per Drawing 1, Sheet A4 provide colored concrete on Office/ Day Room wing (area defined between gridlines 1 and 3 and gridlines B and C ) follow color manufacturer recommendations (Davis or approved equal) for concrete sealer in these areas. The Cache Wing (between gridlines #4 and #5) and Engine bays are not colored concrete and are not to be provided sealer.
54. The specifications call for signage in the building, however aside from the requirements in the specs there are no details or a sign schedule. Is the design to be part of the contract? Will signage be a separate contract? If signage, but not design, is to be included in the bid, please supply a sign schedule.
Reference Attachment 1 Specifications, Section 10 14 00 – Signage, Page 10 14 00-1
ANSWER:
Provide signage as per Specification 10 14 00, section 2.3.
55. Specification 10 14 00, 2.2D speaks of room ID signage. This is not shown anywhere on the plans or in the sign schedule (paragraph 2.3). Please clarify how many rooms, if any, require room ID signage.
ANSWER:
Provide signage as stated in Specification 10 14 00, section 2.3A : “Provide all signage as required by code and listed below.”
56. Regarding the time needed for the Government to relocate operations from the (e) station to the (n) fire engine garage between base project completion and start of alternate scope: Please clarify whether the number of days allotted for this relocation is to be counted against the 360-calendar-day period of performance.
ANSWER:
