About this file
This solicitation package includes specifications for a hazardous materials abatement project. The project requires abatement of hazardous materials from the Del Norte High School building prior to its conversion into office space for the Rio Grande National Forest Supervisor's Office. Work includes removal and disposal of hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and other regulated building materials from various areas and structures within the school building. The solicitation establishes base items for hazardous material removal in different areas of the school and optional items for additional abatement work if certain materials are found to contain asbestos. It provides requirements for submittals, temporary facilities, waste management, health and safety protocols, and performance period definitions for substantial and final completion. Interested contractors are invited to submit price proposals for the base items by the specified due date. The Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region is the contracting agency overseeing the project.
