REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) OFFICIAL RESPONSES

127EAW23R0013 - GAOA Lytle Creek Improvements

RFI responses will be responded to as necessary in amendment format which will be posted to the solicitation via beta.SAM.gov

Telephone requests for information will not be accepted or returned.

RFI #1 – Section 133402, Para. 2.2 calls for Tioga double vault with board and batt exterior finish

(3/12 Pitch) and later calls for a 6/12 Roof Pitch. Please advise which model is correct.

USFS Response – Restrooms shall be CXT Tioga with chase with standard barnwood texture walls and cedar shake texture 3:12 pitched roof or equivalent.

RFI #2 – Is there a source of water for use during construction activities?

USFS Response – The contractor is responsible for obtaining water from a commercial source and at their own cost. The nearest commercial source is Mountain Lakes Resort in Lytle Creek and has provided construction water to contractors on past projects.

RFI #3 – Section 312000, Para. 2.1D & Section 312010, Para 2.2A states contradicting max rock diameter. Q: Is our Max Rock Diameter 4” or 6” or 3”?

USFS Response – A contradiction between Section 312000 Part 2.1 D and Section 312010 Part

2.2 A is noted. Typically, Section 312010 governs the requirements for gradation of backfill and fills per Section 312000 Part 2.1 D (1), as a major portion of the earthwork will require the processing of a select borrow source to be used as fill material for expanding the parking lot.

Delete Section 312000 Part 2.1 D (1) and replace with the following:

Remove rocks over 6 inches in maximum dimension, ice or frozen earth, muck, debris, and earth with high void content.

Delete Section 312000 Part 2.1 D (2) in its entirety. However, the specifications for backfill and fill around the site amenities may require the removal of material down the smaller gradation and that would govern over the requirements outlined in Section 312000, 2.1 D and 312010, 2.2

A.
