2.0 Background
Bridge 1 Sheep Bridge
In the early 1980s, the bridge currently known as Sheep Bridge was constructed with Range Betterment funds to allow sheep to cross Teton Creek and access the Dry Basin and Badland sheep allotments south of Teton Creek. In the early 2000s, sheep grazing in the area was discontinued, but the trail and bridge had become popular for recreational users.
The bridge was rehabbed with a new deck and approaches during the 2010’s. The low clearance over the creek and the overall condition of the bridge has prompted the need replace it.
Bridge 2 Treasure Lake Bridge
Installation of a bridge at this site is intended to eliminate pedestrian use of a nearby vehicle bridge which is a safety concern. Separating vehicle and pedestrian traffic by installing this pedestrian relieves this concern. Currently, there is no bridge at this location.
