RFP 1240LT24R0072
Amendment 0007
a. The following are prospective offeror questions and the Government’s response to each of those questions:
Q16 – I am getting our Bond paperwork filled out and needing the obligee information. Would that be you and, if so, they are needing a phone number and an effective date.
A16 – In a surety bond, the obligee is the party that requests the bond from the principal (Prime Contractor) and would be compensated by the surety if the principal is unable to fulfill their contractual obligations. In this case, the obligee is the U.S. Forest Service, Attn:
Procurement & Property Services, Contracting Officer, Tel 970-286-0991, Effective Date: 29 October 2024.
Q17 – Are you wanting Bid Bond in place at the time of bid submittal?
A17 – Yes.
Q18 – The scope of work requires the re-contouring of the north and south stream banks. The south stream bank has a large boulder (See Attachment #1) against the bank. Rather than having to relocate the boulder or attempt to break it up into smaller manageable sizes, we propose to contour the stream bank around the boulder and leave the boulder in place. This method would be a cost and time savings to the government. Please advise.
A18 – Re-contouring around the large boulder is acceptable. All boulders that do not interfere with the installation of the new bridge may remain in place and the banks contoured around them.
Q19 – We have our bid bond (proposal guarantee) dated from 10/7/2024 as this was a previous proposal due date. Just wanted to check that this is acceptable, or if we need to provide a bid bond that is updated to the current bid date?
A19 – It would be preferable to have it updated since there have been changes to the solicitation from issued amendments.
b. The deadline for receipt of proposals in response to this solicitation is hereby extended to 11:59 p.m. Central Time on 28 October 2024. Please email your Price and Technical Proposal to mary.harding@usda.gov.
