About this file
This document is Attachment FF, a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification for a construction or outdoor work project. The attachment outlines comprehensive safety guidelines for workers exposed to various weather conditions, with a specific focus on extreme heat protection. The requirement mandates that the Prime Contractor include detailed provisions in the project Safety Plan to protect workers from heat-related and cold-related illnesses, ensuring worker safety throughout the project's execution.
The document specifies that when temperatures reach or exceed 90 degrees (either actual temperature or heat index), the contractor must implement a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan. This plan must include provisions for worker acclimatization, access to water, rest periods, and shade. Vendors acknowledge and agree to these safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for employees during potentially hazardous weather conditions.
