About this file
This supplemental information document supports the City of Tallahassee's Pump Station 43 Improvements Invitation for Bid (IFB 023-26-RM) in Florida. The project requires the contractor to remove an out-of-service force main, install approximately 675 linear feet of 18-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) force main, place an in-service force main out of service, install a surge tank and kingpin manhole, implement bypass pumping components, and relocate an existing chemical tank. Additional work includes asphalt patching, milling, resurfacing, surface restoration, arboricultural mitigation for impacted trees per an arborist report, traffic maintenance, and restoration of disturbed areas. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM EST via Microsoft Teams. The contractor must submit acceptable Temporary Traffic Control Plans and secure road closure requests prior to commencing work.
The document provides two critical supplemental resources for bidder review: a Subsurface Utility Investigation Report for Pump Station 43 Force Main dated April 9, 2024 (prepared by WGI, Inc.) and a Topographic & Route Design Survey for Meginnis Arm Road from I-10 to Pump Station 43, signed and sealed by the City of Tallahassee on January 10, 2025. While these documents are provided for contractor information, the contractor retains full responsibility for locating existing utilities, examining soil conditions within the project area, and determining their collective effects on the work. The project contains no federal funding sources, and therefore federal provisions do not apply to this contract.
