About this file
This document is a Photo Series Attachment detailing small fuels treatment documentation for the Willamette National Forest's BCLH Stewardship IRSC Phase 3 project. The attachment provides technical data on post-treatment fuel loadings, specifically documenting tons per acre across different timber diameter classes: 0.25" to 3.0" (4.5 tons/acre), 3.1" to 9.0" (6.8 tons/acre), and 9.1" to 20" (13.2 tons/acre). The photos demonstrate that minimum fuels treatment objectives have been met, with residual down wood greater than 16" in diameter retained on site, illustrating the forest management approach to reducing fire risks while preserving ecological elements.
A secondary photo series shows variations in fuel loading, with one example indicating that while smaller diameter fuels (0.25" to 3.0" and 3.1" to 9.0") have been reduced to meet Forest Standards and Guides, the 9.1" to 20" fuel class remains above the minimum standard. This attachment serves as a technical reference for understanding the forest management treatment outcomes, providing visual and quantitative evidence of fuel reduction strategies implemented in the fire-affected areas near Detroit, Oregon.

ATTACHMENT 10 – SMALL FUELS TREATMENT PHOTO SERIES
Photo series examples of post-treatment fuels loadings
Page 2 of 3 Detroit Ranger District
The following photos depict post-treatment fuel loadings with tons per acre caluclated by planner transects and tallied by size class and can be used as a guide to determine adequate levels of fuels treatments.
Diameter Tons Per Acre 0.25” to 3.0” 4.5
3.1 to 9.0” 6.8
9.1 to 20” 13.2
In this photo series all minimum fuels treatment objectives have been meet and residual down wood greater than 16” in diameter has been retained on site.
Page 3 of 3 Detroit Ranger District
Diameter Tons Per Acre
0.25 to 3.0” 0.9
3.1 to 9.0” 7.0
9.1 to 20” 25.1
In this photo the .25” to 3.0” and 3.1” to 9.0” fuels have been reduced to meet Forest Standards and Guides, but fuel loading in the 9.1” to 20” class are above the minimum standard.
