About this file
This document is Attachment FF, a Heat Protection Safety Requirement detailing worker safety guidelines for a construction or field work project. The attachment mandates comprehensive weather-related safety provisions within the project's Safety Plan, with specific focus on protecting workers from heat and cold-related illnesses during work execution. When temperatures reach or exceed 90 degrees (by temperature or heat index), the Prime Contractor must implement a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan that includes provisions for worker acclimatization, access to water, rest periods, and shade.
The requirement stipulates that vendors acknowledge and agree to follow these heat protection safety guidelines by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission. The document emphasizes the Prime Contractor's responsibility to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of adverse weather conditions, ensuring worker safety is a priority throughout the project's duration. By requiring vendors to explicitly agree to these terms during the bidding process, the contracting entity ensures a proactive approach to worker protection and heat-related safety management.
